hi everyone this is principal McCarthy with the video update for the week of May 26th this is a short week due to the Memorial Day weekend that just passed hope everyone had a wonderful and enjoyable relaxing 3 their weekend so we are looking at the last 11 days of the school year and for those of you that are in the evening program there are only 9 days left our persistence overall is good at 72% but we'd like to see that go just a little bit more so please keep working on maintaining good strong attendance and communicate to your instructors and advisors if you need any support or assistance so we're going to go right over to the North Valley website and um we're going to take a look at a few items here um first of all graduation season is upon us and we are looking at um multiple rehearsals this week for both our Career Technical education as as well as um the uh academic program for our high school diploma high school equivalency and our ceremony for CTE if you go to our Master calendar here um is the 29th so you can that we're having our recognition ceremony we're asking everyone to be there at 4:30 and the ceremony will commence at 5:30 with a reception for family and friends afterwards and then we also on May 30th this Friday have our high school diploma high school equivalency graduation in the morning this is all taking place on the main campus at North Valley in the beautiful garden area and then if you click over to June we should also have information here on the 5th where at our Renaldi campus we are having our ESL graduation ceremony so a lot of excitement going on lots of scholarship opportunities so students if you haven't and you can still do it please apply for that scholarship money we don't want to keep it we really want to give it away to you to help you with your your career and education goals Beyond in North Valley and then um Also let's see what are the things are going on I also wanted to mention it everybody that we have the last of our every school safe uh video happening uh videos that uh you know we have usually monthly health and safety topics and we make sure that our school those this month it is cyber security and safety so I of course and my team watch these videos as well but when you get there well there's several ways so you see this Banner that's on our website you can click through this and you can actually wait till you see the every school safe click on this that'll take you to the videos but then there are other ways for you to get there as well under students you click on students and you'll see that there's all the these little buttons here students so that you can access information and here's the every school safe button please click on this and you'll see that we have archived for you all of the safety um videos and presentations that have going on through the year so you can always go look back at those many of them are in English and Spanish but then here's the 1 for May and June this is our cyber safety it's 2 really quick 2 and a half minute videos they're um well done and and they're in cartoon format but they're definitely appropriate for all of our students um and particularly if you're a parent or you're a caregiver for a young person um there's some really valuable information here and it also shows is to talk to your kids and those who care for um about cyber security so please make sure you check that out also I want to point out that under students there is information on student support resources if you click click on that button we want to make sure that we um all of our students understand that we are School safe zones and we support our immigrant and undocumented populations and there are a lot of resources here listed under the Immigrant resources all the way down um so please click on those if you need information and then let's see finally in the last few minutes here um I just want to make sure that I think everyone for a wonderful school year there'll be a couple more videos but I want to encourage all of you this is the last couple weeks and I know it's hard at the end but you can do this we believe in you and so keep coming to school every day pushing hard digging deep to finish those final assignments and tests and we look forward to seeing you graduate and finish out the school year thank you and have a great week
