hi everyone this is principal McCarthy with the video update for the week of June 2nd 2025 this is our final week of the school year I cannot believe we have made it to the end so we are only looking at about 7 more days of instruction for the day program and 6 more evenings so again I'm going to start by encouraging everyone please be here every day it's critical that you don't miss any of your final hours of instruction so um we believe in you and we're excited to see you complete speaking of which we just had 2 fantastic graduation ceremonies Thursday of last week in the evening we had our Career Technical education program graduation ceremony and many of our CTE students who were available participated we had a wonderful time celebrating the completion of their Career Technical education programs with North Valley and then on Friday morning we had our traditional annual high school diploma high school equivalency graduation ceremony in the morning and again a beautiful event so proud of all of our graduates thank you again for choosing our school and we hope that you're going to share your experiences with others family and friends because I truly believe that your accomplishments will not only encourage others to return to school um but also to complete our training programs here at the North Valley Occupational Center and our Branch sites so moving on to data I want to share with you that uh we uh have the latest report from uh run on June 1st and as I suspected if you look at the North Valley Occupational Center Line here we have achieved the goal of hitting over just over a year over 7,000 students enrolled for the school year so this is an amazing accomplishment I want to thank everyone for being such an incredible team and working so hard to get us to that point and I think we will have nothing but positive things in the upcoming year now we are hosting summer school as we do annually and let me go ahead and make sure that I show you that on our website if you click here on live schedules you will always be able to see the latest and greatest live class schedules then you click on this link and this will take you to the live schedule for the summer term so if you'll notice who you're only going to have uh summer school here on the main campus which has been traditional for many years but we will be offering both day and evening programs the the number of programs we're offering is limited compared to the regular year but um in the next few days all the way through next week um all of our programs will be starting to enroll our students and please students if you are currently here take advantage of the summer enrollment and make sure that you see the calendar counselors they're visiting classes they're coming to uh you can come to the counseling office I know that each program is enrolling on different days but um our ESL is enrolling starting to uh Wednesday June 4th for summer then the following day on the 5th our academic high school diploma high school equivalency program will be enrolling and then I believe our CTE program is actually currently enrolling right now for summer we have very limited CTE classes so uh we are looking to fill both our accounting um our computer classes which will be offering day and evening and we're running a special um IET Healthcare foundation's class which is actually a Wonderful class for both our native speakers and our ESL students and our higher levels who are interested in learning the language but also learning about possibilities for various health careers we will be using the health Foundation class as a prerequisite for students to get into our classes moving into the new year so please those of you that would love to get into our Healthcare classes take this class in the summer and enroll um that way it'll get that class out of the way for you and then um let's see what else is going on this year the this year this week so those are the biggest things happening on the school board of course has um agreed on the calendar for next school year so again ESL starting Wednesday for our academic on Thursday and CTE is open for summer registration now and again please go to our website where you can check out our live summer schedule I want to thank all of you this is not my last video but I do want to thank all of you for an incredible year amazing jobs students were super excited to see you graduate and also um join us on Thursday actually this week for our ESL graduation take care and have a great last week
