EMT Re-Certification

We anticipate the possibility of offering the 30-hour EMT recertification course during Summer 2022.  Please check back for the schedule and registration procedures.
 
Registration and all coursework will be completed online  All coursework is presented in daily modules and will meet the 24-hour requirements for EMT refresher training. photo2Upon successful completion of the 24 hours of refresher information, students will receive a downloadable certificate of completion, and a hard copy of the completion certificate will also be mailed to their residence.
   
On March 30, 2020, Governor Gavin Newsom issued Executive Order N-39-20 which, in part, waived statutory and regulatory requirements for EMS personnel to ensure continued operations of emergency services. This includes the requirement for skills competency verification for EMT renewal for the duration of the COVID-19 emergency.

This course is approved by the Los Angeles County EMS Agency for 24 hours of Continuing Education and meets the state required hours to re-certify an EMT certificate. The NVOC EMT Refresher Class includes epinephrine, naloxone, and blood glucometry training.
 
 
 
Who should enroll?
Students who have a current or lapsed EMT certification.
If your EMT certification has lapsed, please check the California regulations regarding re-certifying. Information may be found on the LA County EMS Agency website or the California EMS Authority's webpage https://emsa.ca.gov/emt
 
Students who may have successfully completed an EMT course, but have not passed the NREMT exam and are required to take a refresher course to retake the NREMT exam.
